Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has tasked residents of Madagali and surrounding communities to remain vigilant as the threat of insurgent attacks continues to loom over the region.
During his Easter visit to his hometown of Gulak in Madagali Local Government Area, the governor expressed deep concerns over recent sporadic attacks in the northern part of the state.
He warned against unnecessary movements into remote areas, citing recent ambushes by insurgents targeting civilians.
Addressing district heads, community groups, and local organisations at his Gulak residence, Gov. Fintiri emphasised the need for community cooperation in combating insecurity.
He urged traditional leaders and residents to support security agencies with timely and credible information, especially in areas lacking a visible security presence.
“The fight against insecurity is a shared responsibility,” he said. “We must all play our part in protecting our communities.”
The governor also used the occasion to encourage parents and guardians to instill discipline in their children, promote education, and emphasise the value of hard work.
