The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the resumption of the third and final phase of its nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, scheduled to begin on Monday, May 11, 2026.
This was disclosed via a statement signed by the Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna.
According to the commission, the second phase of the registration exercise was suspended on April 17, 2026, to allow for the cleaning and verification of the voters’ register following its publication for claims and objections.
INEC also confirmed that the final phase will run from May 11 to July 10, 2026.
During this period, eligible Nigerians who have attained the age of 18, as well as those who were unable to register in earlier phases, are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity.

In addition, INEC announced that the updated voters’ register will be displayed for public inspection from July 23 to July 29, 2026, to allow citizens to review the list and submit claims or objections where necessary.
The electoral body assured Nigerians that adequate arrangements have been made for a smooth and transparent exercise, urging eligible citizens to participate actively in strengthening the nation’s electoral process.
