The newly appointed Special Assistant to Ebonyi state Governor on security in Ivo local government Area, Hon Ike Clatius Ukpai has assured residents that he would do everything possible to secure and protect lives and property within the communities under his watch.
Ukpai stated this immediately after taking oath of office at the new executive council chambers, centenary city in Abakaliki on Friday.
He noted that the people of lvo local government have witnessed so much insecurity which has claimed the lives and property of its citizens recently and vowed to use the elevated position to combat crime in the area.
The Special Assistant commended the state Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for finding him worthy to serve in his administration, and assured that there would be no security breaches in the entire locality.

According to him, having served in the capacity of town union president for so many years, he has all it takes to make insecurity a thing of the past.
Other persons who spoke including Mr Monday Okorie, former commissioner, Ebonyi state independent Electra Commission (EBIEC) and the chairman chicken dealers association, Ebonyi state chapter applauded the state governor for bringing in capable hands that will handle sensitive security challenges in the hinterlands.
They advised the new appointee to use his previous experience to combat security challenges ravaging the Area.
“We will advise you to apply your experience gathered during your time as a town union president knowing fully well that you have what it takes to manage security to your local government and beyond”.
