- Police honour retired CP, decorates promoted officers
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has commend an officer of the Nigeria Police Force who rejected a bribe of $200,000.
The officer, SP Daniel Amah, was said to have busted a syndicate involving one Ali Zaki and some Police Officers in an armed robbery of over N320 million.
Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, and acting Police Commissioner of Kano State, DCP Abubakar Zubairu, presented the IGP commendation letter to Amah.
“On behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, psc (+), NPM, fdc, the Command’s Acting Commissioner of Police, presented a commendation letter to SP Daniel I. Amah for maintaining outstanding excellent work ethics, uncommon focus and dedication to duty, and exhibiting sound professionalism leading to the arrest and prosecution of one Ali Zaki and some Police Officers in a case of an armed robbery involving the sum of three hundred and twenty million, five hundred thousand naira only (N320,500,000:00) as well rejecting the sum of two hundred thousand United State Dollars ($200,000:00) offered to him as a bribe,” spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said.
Also, the Kano State Police Command has organised a sent forth party to celebrate the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, and five others as they retire from the Force.

The event, which was held in the State’s Capital, was organised by the Command in collaboration with the Kano Citizens Forum.
Kiyawa, in a statement on Monday night said the event was organised to honour the retired officers for their selfless service in ensuring peace in Kano State.
“On the 14th of August, 2022, the Kano State Government in Collaboration with the Kano Citizens Forum Organized Send Forth Dinner in Honour of Retired CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi and five others for their selfless service in ensuring peace in Kano State,” Kiyawa stated.
He also disclosed that 38 officers who were promoted to higher ranks were also decorated by the acting Commissioner of Police in the State, DCP Abubakar Zubairu.
The spokesperson said the officers were promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police.
“Today, 15th August 2022, the Acting Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, who is the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Abubakar Zubairu, psc, in his weekly briefing with members of Kano State Police Command’s Management Team, decorates thirty-eight (38) newly promoted Police Police Officers from the rank of DSP to the rank of SP.
“He reminded the officers that to whom much is given, much is expected. He charged the officers to look at themselves as supervisors, and know their subordinates so that they can supervise them very well. He wishes the newly promoted officers long life and prosperity and prays may Almighty Allah bless their new rank,”
