The Commander of the Civilian Joint Task Force in Lagos, Kumar Sanda has revealed that hundreds of individuals suspected to be members of Boko Haram have been arrested in the state.
Speaking at an award ceremony on April 16, he emphasized the Commander of the Civilian Joint Task Force’s commitment to preventing the infiltration of insurgents and bandits fleeing from northern Nigeria.
Sanda highlighted that the Commander of the Civilian Joint Task Force conducts regular arrests at key locations such as trailer parks, quarries, and markets where people from northern regions often congregate upon their arrival in Lagos.

He noted the significant number of arrests, suggesting that thousands have been apprehended, a figure he believed might be hard for the public to accept.
The Commander of the Civilian Joint Task Force Commander reassured residents that Boko Haram poses no threat in Lagos, citing strong communication with the Governor’s office to ensure safety for citizens.
He added that many of the individuals involved in insurgency may be non-Nigerians who disguise themselves as locals. Sanda acknowledged the origins of Boko Haram in Borno State, while underscoring the importance of monitoring individuals from that region and others known for insurgency activity in order to maintain peace and security in Lagos.
