Ed Gale, renowned for his role as the horror figure Chucky in several installments of the “Child’s Play” franchise, has passed away at the age of 61, according to reports by TMZ.
A source present at the time of Ed’s passing informed a TMZ correspondent that he died on Tuesday while in hospice care in Los Angeles.
His niece, Kayse Gale, honoured her “fun uncle” with a touching post on Facebook, stating that he has “taken his final bow and is now headlining in the afterlife.”
No details regarding the cause of his death have been disclosed.

She reminisced about his adventurous climb to stardom, recalling how he first ventured to California at 20 with a mere $41, eventually making appearances in over 130 films, television series, and advertisements.
Ed featured in beloved cult classics such as “Howard the Duck” and “Chopper Chicks in Zombietown,” but he is most well-known for embodying Chucky in the initial “Child’s Play” along with two other sequels in the franchise about the murderous doll.
He also had roles in productions like “Bones,” “Spaceballs,” and “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”
In the years leading up to his death, Ed was entangled in significant controversy, as he was under investigation for purportedly attempting to solicit sex from several minors.
