The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has said three handball teams were unable to meet up with time to participate in this season’s National Handball Division One League championship.
In a statement by the HFN Secretary-General, Mohammed Maigidansama in Abuja, the three teams comprising Delta Force, Bayelsa, and Cross Rivers will have other cogent reasons not to participate in this championship.
According to NAN, the winners of this year’s championship in both male and female categories will earn automatic qualification to the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League.

Mohammed Maigidansama said, “I believe that in the next edition they will do the necessary things on time to participate in the championship.
“They (three teams) will definitely have other reasons for not participating in the championship,” he added.
The HFN Secretary-General asserts that the games started on February 26 and hosted in Edo state, are going on smoothly without any hitch.
Maigidansama disclosed that the Edo government entered a deal to host and sponsor the championship for four years.
