Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Edet Otu has commissioned a fresh fleet of operational vehicles to the state’s Homeland Security Service. The vehicles, handed over during a formal ceremony at the Governor’s Office in Calabar, are intended to enhance rapid response, community protection, and crime prevention efforts.
Governor Otu made it clear that the new vehicles are not for prestige or convenience but for direct deployment in safeguarding lives and property. “These are not luxury cars. They are critical tools meant to boost our operational capacity and protect every citizen of Cross River,” the Governor emphasized.
He urged the Homeland Security officials to embrace professionalism, accountability, and community-focused service as the core tenets of their operations. To further reinforce security presence across the state, Otu announced plans to recruit additional personnel into the state’s security architecture, ensuring stronger grassroots reach and sustainable peace.

Poor feedback will not be tolerated,” he added.
