Mr. Richard Oborikporo Ovweghrederohwo (aka Advise), Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially resigned his position.
In a letter addressed to the Governor through the Secretary to the State Government and dated June 2, 2025, Mr. Ovweghrederohwo expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the administration, describing his time in office as “an honour and a profound privilege.”
He stated that his decision to resign was reached after “careful personal reflection and consideration” of his future political aspirations. Notably, he clarified that his resignation was not due to dissatisfaction with the policies or performance of the current administration, but rather to avoid aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he indicated he does not wish to join.

“The experience and knowledge I gained during this period have been invaluable and will continue to shape my political journey,” he wrote, reaffirming his respect and appreciation for Governor Oborevwori’s leadership and the developmental strides of the administration.
Mr. Ovweghrederohwo however pledged his continued support for the success of the Oborevwori-led government.
As at the time of filing this report, there has been no official reaction from Government House regarding the resignation.
