The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has presented financial assistance to families and dependants of those who lost their lives during the Lamurde crisis in the state.
The cheques were presented on Monday in Lamurde to the next of kin of the deceased, with the governor represented by the Ddeputy Governor, Kaletapwa Farauta.
Each beneficiary received ₦5,000,000 as support from the state government to help cushion the impact of the tragedy
Speaking at the presentation, Farauta said the intervention fulfilled a promise earlier made by the governor during a visit to the affected community.
“At the time we lost some women, the governor visited the area and made financial promises to the victims’ families, which we are presenting today,” she said.

She urged community members to exercise patience and embrace peaceful coexistence.

In addition to the cash support, the government distributed relief materials including maize, rice, wrappers, children’s clothing, mats, and mattresses to affected families.
