Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has unveiled an ambitious plan to boost Adamawa’s civil service and enhance critical infrastructure across the state. Speaking at a meeting with Jimeta community leaders on Tuesday at the Government House, Yola, Fintiri outlined a series of initiatives aimed at driving economic growth and improving public service.

Governor Fintiri announced that the state government will begin recruiting new civil servants in the first quarter of 2025, with a goal of strengthening the workforce and improving service delivery across Adamawa. “This recruitment drive is part of our commitment to empowering our citizens and ensuring efficient governance,” he said.

As part of a broader economic empowerment strategy, Fintiri also pledged to provide business grants to 100,000 youths and women, fostering self-reliance and stimulating the local economy. This grant initiative aims to support entrepreneurship and create job opportunities in Adamawa.

In addition to civil service reforms, the governor emphasized infrastructure development as a key priority for his administration. He announced plans to construct new roads in Bacure and nearby areas in Jimeta, describing infrastructure investment as essential for attracting investors and spurring sustainable development in the state.

Reflecting on recent achievements, Governor Fintiri highlighted the successful renovation and upgrade of the Jimeta Water Treatment Plant, which has significantly improved access to clean drinking water for residents.

Reaffirming his commitment to Adamawa’s growth, Fintiri said, “We remain dedicated to advancing the state’s progress and enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.” He stressed that these initiatives will lay a solid foundation for a prosperous future in Adamawa.
