Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule has dismissed reports suggesting that he has declared his intention to run for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the 2027 elections.
The governor’s clarification is coming in response to speculations that he had established a committee to propel his senatorial ambition.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, on Tuesday, in Lafia, Gov. Sule reiterated that the claims are unfounded and have not originated from him or his office.
The governor emphasised that he has not solicited support or confirmation for a run for the Senate or any other political office.
The statement added that while there have been numerous appeals from various individuals and organisations urging the governor to publicly declare his interest in the Nasarawa North senatorial race for the 2027 elections, Gov. Sule has consistently declined such overtures.
“He remains dedicated to his current role, focusing on fulfilling his obligations as the democratically elected governor of Nasarawa State and honouring the commitments he made to the electorate.

“The governor’s commitment to the development and betterment of Nasarawa State remains his top priority.
“Governor Sule is resolute in his intention to leave Nasarawa in a better state than he found it,” the statement said.
It stated that while Gov. Sule is grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement from his constituents and political allies, he urged his supporters to direct their energy towards assisting his administration in achieving his governmental objectives at this time, rather than speculating about his future political plans.
“It is crucial for our supporters to focus on the current mandate and collaborative efforts to enhance the lives of the people of Nasarawa,” he concluded.
