Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has applauded the deepening political ties between Edo and Delta States.
He stated this during a solidarity visit by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, and a delegation of the state’s lawmakers to Benin City.
The visit, which coincided with the mass defection of members of the Edo State House of Assembly from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), was seen by the governor as a clear signal of growing political synergy in the South-South region.
Receiving the delegation, Gov. Okpebholo commended the move as a “bold step towards regional cooperation and unity,” noting that the increasing alignment between Edo and Delta States under the APC will bring stronger developmental collaboration and shared governance values.
He also praised Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for his achievements and expressed his readiness to work more closely with Delta State to promote mutual progress and stability.
