The attack, which occurred on April 26, 2026, left residents grappling with significant losses and renewed fears over security in the area.

Fintiri expressed concern over the resurgence of attacks in parts of the state, noting that the incident in Guyaku came barely a week after a similar assault in Wuro Ladde community in Hong Local Government Area.

He described the pattern as a sign of desperation by insurgents, likening it to the “last kicks of a dying horse,” while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to restoring peace.

The governor assured residents that his government would intensify efforts to protect lives and property, pledging closer collaboration with security agencies to strengthen surveillance, enhance response mechanisms, and prevent further attacks on vulnerable communities.

Accompanying the governor on the visit were top government officials, including the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, the Secretary to the State Government, Auwal D. Tukur, and the Chief of Staff, Edgar Amos. Members of the National Assembly representing affected constituencies were also part of the delegation.

The team held discussions with community leaders and residents to evaluate the extent of the damage and identify urgent humanitarian needs.

Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting affected communities, promising relief assistance as well as sustained security interventions aimed at restoring normalcy and preventing further attacks in the region.
