The Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation, Bello Muhammed Goronyo, has praised the Gombe state Government and the contractor for their commendable efforts in the ongoing Rehabilitation, Expansion, and Upgrade of the Gombe Regional Water Supply Scheme Project.
During a thorough inspection of the project sites, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the quality of work accomplished, commending Messrs Jidadu Ventures Ltd for adhering to standards and specifications outlined in the contract’s Terms of Reference.
The project, which is a collaborative effort between the Gombe State Government and the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, operates on a 70-30 funding arrangement.
Minister Goronyo conveyed optimism about the project’s positive impact, foreseeing improved access to clean potable drinking water for residents of Gombe metropolis and its environs.

This, according to him, aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reflects the commitment of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration to address crucial issues.
Providing insights into the project, Mohammed Saidu Fawu, the Commissioner of Gombe State Ministry of Water, Environment, and Forest Resources, highlighted the diverse energy sources.
Which according to him, includes solar, generators, and the national grid.
Adding that this strategic energy mix aims to overcome energy challenges and enhance water supply to various stations.
The inspection covered key project sites such as Wuro Juli Independent Water Scheme, Special Development Zone Booster Station, as well as NTA and Tumfure Booster Stations.
This development signifies a crucial step towards achieving sustainable water supply and aligning with national development objectives.
