The accident that claimed the lives of five people and left many others injured, occurred during an Easter procession .

The heartbreaking incident occurred when a trailer truck transporting grains from Adamawa State to Gombe reportedly suffered brake failure and veered into a group of Christian worshippers participating in the Easter celebration.

Describing the tragedy as “a dark and painful moment,” Governor Yahaya extended his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and pray for the swift and full recovery of those currently receiving treatment,” the Governor stated.

He assured the affected victims and their families of the government’s full support, including access to quality medical care. He also called on residents to remain calm and united in the face of the devastating incident.
