According to Emmanuel, about six armed men arrived at the scene using a boat, fired shots into the air, and forcibly took Fubara away via the same water route.

“The incident happened on Saturday night, a few minutes past 8 pm, at the Okirika waterside axis. My brother normally hangs out in the neighborhood to relax and take a few bottles of beer; it has been like that over the years,” Emmanuel recounted. “All of a sudden, some guys came with boats from the waterside jetty and walked directly to him. People started running for their lives as the gunmen fired shots into the air. After they left, we realized my elder brother had been kidnapped.”
