Millions of naira worth of items were destroyed by fire on Wednesday at the well-known Alaba Rago Market in the Ojo area of Lagos.
A statement by the Director General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osayintolu, stated that the fire began around midnight. At the time this report was filed, the cause of the fire was yet to be determined.
Oke-Osayintolu said the LASEMA team responded to distress calls by arriving to the market, deploying its emergency response team from Igando, and activating the state’s emergency response procedures.

When the agency’s Dolphin Response Team arrived at the area, it discovered that some shanty stores had caught fire.
Also, speaking on the incident, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, stated that the fire was eventually contained before spreading to other properties
