Adeh, a superintendent of police, said preliminary investigations indicated that the registration documents for the plate, identified as 10B218 FG, were allegedly forged.
She said the suspect had claimed to be the legitimate holder of the number plate, prompting further investigations that allegedly uncovered the forged documents and suspected impersonation.

Questions Over Government-Associated Plates
The arrest raises questions about the alleged use of government-associated vehicle identification and forged official documents linked to offices such as the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory, where security agencies maintain heightened surveillance around government institutions and public officials.
However, the police have yet to provide further details about how the plate was obtained, whether other individuals were involved or the circumstances surrounding the alleged impersonation.
The command urged residents to remain law-abiding and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
It also provided the emergency telephone numbers 08032003913 and 08061581938 for members of the public to report security concerns.
