The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Grace Ike, has expressed profound gratitude to the organisers of the 8th Silent Heroes Awards Abuja 2026, for honouring her with the Silent Hero in Management Award, describing the recognition as a tribute to the resilience, dedication and professionalism of journalists.
Speaking while receiving the award, Ike said the honour was both humbling and inspiring, noting that it would further motivate her to continue serving the journalism profession and society with integrity and commitment.

The NUJ FCT chairman said leadership is built on teamwork, sacrifice and service, stressing that the achievements recorded by the council have been made possible through the collective efforts of members, executive officers, chapel leaders, veterans of the profession and strategic partners.
She noted that the award would serve as renewed motivation to work harder for the welfare of journalists and the advancement of ethical journalism.
