In what seems like a replica of the composition of the All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign council for next weekend council election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has on Friday named a powerful campaign council that cut across organs of the party.
The Trumpet recalled that the PDP on Wednesday criticised the ruling party for naming about 12 governors, federal lawmakers and cabinet Ministers as part of its campaign council, thereby insinuating an attempt to intimidate other political parties.
The PDP in a statement by its spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba saId members of the Campaign Council include governors; Samuel Ortom of Benue as, Chairman, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi, Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu while Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde serve as Secretary.

Other members are the chairman Board of Trustees, Sen. Walid Jibrin, former Senate presidents, David Mark and Bukola Saraki, senators; Enyinnaya Abaribe Philip Aduda, Uche Ekwunife, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, former Kogi State governor, Ibrahim Idris and Prof. Jerry Gana.
The remaining members of the 34-man campaign council are members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
The Directorate of Organization & Mobilization (DOM), the statement added, is to provide Secretariat for the Campaign Council.
The PDP urged all aspirants, members and its teeming supporters in the FCT to remain focused and continue to work hard as the PDP marches to victory in the elections.
