“I want to condemn this dastard attack, in it’s totality and entirety, and say that we in the FCT or any other state, will not fold our hands to watch this degeneration and malady.

“In my humble assessment, I observed that the Prisons were porous, ill equipped and not properly managed.

“There was absence of even a CCTV camera which ought to have been recalled now, for footages. This, I think is absurd and unacceptable, especially in the FCT, where the seat of power is.”

The lawmaker urged all residents, to remain calm but vigilant in the coming days, as “the released inmates will seek for reintegration into the nearby communities. Let our slogan remain “See Something, Say Something”.

He said he is “willing to partner with the National Assembly and the security framework, to enact laws that will stop future occurrences as this, in the FCT where I represent.

“For the ones, whose lives were lost, I pray for the repose of their souls and may God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss. Together, we will defeat, this menace.”
