The family of Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) over his sudden disappearance. According to a statement by the family’s legal representatives, Anuge, Anuge & Co, the award-winning artist has been missing since the early hours of Monday, February 10, 2025.
The petition, dated February 7, 2025, and addressed to the DSS Director General, describes the situation as “deeply troubling.” The document states that 2Baba left his residence in his lounge wear for a routine morning walk but never returned. Despite frantic efforts by his family, record label management, and close associates to reach him, his whereabouts remain unknown.
Adding to the growing concerns, several of the artist’s friends have received suspicious messages from his social media accounts requesting financial assistance. The family believes his identity may have been compromised, raising fears of possible abduction and coercion.

The petition emphasizes 2Baba’s celebrity status, noting that he is typically accompanied by security personnel. However, on the day of his disappearance, he left unaccompanied, a move described as “highly unusual” for the music icon.
The legal representatives have called for urgent intervention by the DSS to locate and rescue 2Baba, citing concerns over his safety, possible foul play, and the devastating impact of his absence on his family, fans, and music empire.
With anxiety mounting, the Nigerian music industry and fans worldwide await further developments, hoping for his safe return.
