Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has attributed the increase in building collapse in the country to quack engineers.
Engr. Rasheed Babalola, who represented the President of NSE, Engr. Tasiu Saad Idari-Wudil, stated this at the 2022 Engineering Week of the Akure branch of NSE.
Babalola urged society to do away from patronizing unqualified engineers, adding that the body is advocating government and other institutions in ensuring that ethics are upheld in all ramifications.
“The failures are not from the professional Engineers and to make our society better, the Society of Engineering are advocating government and other institutions to ensure that the ethics of the profession are upheld in all ramifications.”

He commended the Akure branch of NSE for their great work in moving society forward and its sensitization programs for the youths and young engineers.
Lauding the management of the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation(OSRC) for always patronizing Professional Engineers, the chairman of the Akure NSE, Engr Ezekiel Oloruntola, urged Nigerians and other companies to do the same.
Oloruntola added that being over-dependent on fossil fuels to generate energy had caused much havoc to the country and stressed the need for the embracement of other alternative environmental-friendly technologies such as water, solar among others.
