The #EndBadGovernance movement is set to reignite the nation’s streets as organizers have issued a 17-point ultimatum to the Federal Government, signaling their readiness for mass protests on October 1, 2024.
At the heart of their demands are urgent calls for the immediate and unconditional release of detained protesters, the unfreezing of their assets, and compensation for the hardships they faced while exercising their right to peaceful assembly.
The movement is also pushing for accountability, demanding the removal and prosecution of government officials accused of suppressing protests and violating human rights.

Prominent activist Omoyele Sowore, one of the key organizers, revealed a comprehensive list of demands on Tuesday. Central to these demands is the call for the scrapping of the 1999 Constitution, advocating for its replacement with a constitution crafted by the people, and a thorough restructuring of Nigeria to better reflect its diverse population.
The sweeping demands include the following:
– A minimum wage of no less than N250,000 per month for Nigerian workers.
– Significant investment in education, including grants for Nigerian students and the pursuit of free and compulsory education for children nationwide.
– The unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the demilitarization of the South-East region.
– The release and compensation of all #ENDSARS and political detainees.
As the nation braces for the upcoming protests, the Federal Government faces increasing pressure to address these demands, with the movement’s leaders warning that failure to do so could lead to widespread unrest.
