EFCC declares exRep Nzeribe wanted for alleged fraud

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a former member of the House of Representatives, Chief Chuma Nzeribe, wanted for alleged fraud Justice Yusuf Y. Halilu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama, Abuja had on May 23, 2022, convicted Nzeribe for fraud in absentia.
Declaring the former lawmaker wanted, Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC’s Spokesperson in a statement on Monday, said Nzeribe, who is 62 years old, jumped the court bail granted to him by the FCT High Court, Maitama, and has since not been seen. Uwujaren called on the general public to assist in apprehending Nzeribe.

“His last known address is at Block M7, Flat 8, NNPC Housing Estate, Area 11, Garki, Abuja. “Anyone with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its offices or report to the nearest Police Station and other security agencies,” the spokesperson said in a public notice.
Nzeribe was first arraigned by the EFCC on October 16, 2020, on a four-count charge bordering on possession of a fraudulent document, forgery, using as genuine and cheating by impersonation, punishable under section 6, 8 (b) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under section 1 (3) of the same Act.
