The Economic Community of West African States has opened its 2026 recruitment exercise, offering more than 30 job vacancies for qualified candidates across member states, including Nigeria.
In a notice released on Thursday, the regional body said the recruitment drive is part of efforts to strengthen the delivery of its programmes across critical sectors within the sub-region.
Several roles are available at its Abuja office, covering administrative, health, finance, legal, and political functions. These include positions such as Office Aide, Programme Assistant, Nurse, Protocol Assistant, Documentation and Archives Assistant, Office Manager, Junior Accountant, Legal Officer, Political Adviser, Registrar, as well as senior roles including Head of Division and Principal Officers.

Beyond Nigeria, ECOWAS also announced international openings across its institutions. Vacancies include Administrative and Finance roles in Addis Ababa, programme and policy positions in Liberia and Guinea, and legal and administrative roles in Senegal.
The organisation outlined eligibility requirements, stating that applicants must meet age limits based on job categories. General service roles are open to candidates up to 35 years, professional positions up to 45 years, and director-level roles up to 50 years.
ECOWAS encouraged women to apply, while noting that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted during the selection process.
Interested applicants are required to complete the official application form, attach a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter, and submit their applications through the designated channels before the closing date.
The application window closes on April 30, 2026.
The commission also warned that its recruitment process is free of charge, advising applicants to be cautious of fraudulent requests for payment or sensitive financial information.
