Leaders and major stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State have expressed support and solidarity to the newly appointed Caretaker Committee of the party in the state.
In a “critical stakeholders” meeting held in Abakaliki, the party leaders thanked the National Working Committee of the party for appointing the Caretaker Committee led by Barrister Ekuma Emmanuel saying that the move has restored hope and cohesion in the party in the state.
The meeting which attracted leaders of the party from the 13 Local Government Areas of the state had in attendance, the Southeast National Vice Chairman of the party, Hon. Chidiebere Goodluck Egwu, the 2023 Deputy governorship candidate of the party, Senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu, former Acting National Secretary of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Onwe S. Onwe, a former Deputy National Youth Leader, Chief John Igboke, the 2023 Director General of Ebonyi State PDP Campaign, Chief Autin Edeze, former governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly aspirants among many others.
Making his remarks, Senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu said that with the “appointment of the Caretaker Committee, the PDP in Ebonyi State is now ready to rebuild its house.” The senator emphasized that the “PDP cannot die” noting that it is now clear that through leadership the party has finally arrived.
In his remarks, the Southeast NVC thanked the National Secretary of the PDP,Senator Samuel Anyanwu for being a good ambassador of the Southeast.
Meanwhile, the Caretaker Chairman, Barr Ekuma Emmanuel has expressed happiness over the overwhelming support the committee has received from party leaders and members, he assured party members that the Caretaker committee is ready and committed to ensuring that it discharges its mandate and properly situates the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to him, “ We are here today to dialogue, interface and draw strength and inspiration from you so that we can succeed in this task.

Thanking the leader of the party in the state and the 2023 governorship candidate of the party, Barr. Ekuma said, that “our leader, the 2023 governorship candidate of our partyHigh Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, a man that has proven again and again that his motivation is the welfare and progress of the people of Ebonyi State, a man who has dedicated his time and resources to carry the weight of everyone, a man of good intentions, he has remained a pillar of support even in the most difficult times.”
The PDP National Working Committee in a letter signed by the National Organising Secretary of the party, Hon Umar Bature announced the appointment of a 13-man Caretaker led by Barr. Ekuma Emmanuel, Chairman and Moses Idika, Secretary.
