Ebonyi Guber: I will resuscitate NIGERCEM – Odii

The Gubernatorial flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi state, Mr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has disclosed that the moribund NIGERCEM cement factory at Nkalagu will come on stream if given the mandate come March 11, 2023.

Odii stated this on Wednesday at Ntezi, the venue of Ishielu LGA PDP campaign rally.

The PDP guber candidate said that successive administrations promised to revive the factory but failed to do so because they lacked the capacity.

He said as an entrepreneur he has the capacity to revive the factory when elected Governor of the State, come March 11, 2023.

“As a Governor, I will make sure the cement factory works, because many have promised to revamp the Nkalagu cement factory, but they failed; they failed because they lack the capacity, they failed because they are not entrepreneurs.

“It’s only entrepreneurs that can create something out of nothing, and that is what you should expect from me. I’m going to turn things around to have positive impact in Ebonyi state”, he said.

The governorship candidate further promised to bring happiness to the state’s civil servants and ensure the well-being of the teachers, cut down on the tuition fees currently paid in institutions of learning in the State, among other promises.

“I’m going to bring happiness to the civil servants in Ebonyi state. I’m going to take care of the well-being of teachers. I’m going to reduce tuition fees in our tertiary institutions. I’m going to reduce taxation in Ebonyi state.

” I will create wealth for Ebonyi state, by investing massively in human capital development. I will industrialize Ebonyi state. We will come up with good policies that will enable business-friendly environment to exist in Ebonyi state, that is what you should expect from me.

“A vote for me and the PDP is a vote for progress. I bring to you, the promise of possibility, a promise of we will do it. We will fix Ebonyi state. We are going to ensure that peace reigns/returns in Ebonyi state. We are going to bring progress in Ebonyi state. We will ensure that education is paramount in Ebonyi state. We shall make our youths to be productive to themselves and the state.

“This is what is expected from Ebonyi state. As a Governor, I will be the governor of the whole Ebonyi state, I will be a Governor to every nook and cranny of the state, and so shall it be in Jesus name, thank you and God bless you.”

Other PDP leaders who spoke included the first civilian Governor of Ebonyi State, Dr Sam Egwu, the deputy governorship candidate, Senator Paulinus Igwe-Nwagu, the Director General of the PDP campaign, Chief Austin Igwe-Edeze, the State acting Chairman, Barrister Ifeanyi Nworie among others urged the people to vote PDP in the elective positions for good governance in the State
