The wife of Ebonyi State Governor, (Mrs.) Mary-Maudaline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, at the weekend commissioned an ultra-modern market, constructed by the Coordinator of Afikpo East Development Center, Comrade Immaculate Elem Ibe at Ndibe-Afikpo
The market named Ahia Uzoamaka, built to provide a centralized modern and convenient shopping environment for residents of Nkpoghoro, is part of the Coordinator’s initiative to stimulate economic activity in Nkpoghoro Community
During the commissioning ceremony, the Governor’s wife also unveiled youth empowerment materials including Money, motorbikes, grinding machines, sewing machines, and vulcanizing machines.
This initiative of the Coordinator aims to equip young people with the tools and resources needed to start and grow their own businesses, creating jobs and promoting economic growth.
The Governor’s wife thanked the Coordinator for complementing her efforts and that of the Governor, acknowledging the positive impact it would on the beneficiaries
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, NWACHI, Timothy A. U, who expressed joy on the visit of the Governor’s wife, praised Gov Nwifuru for his people oriented policies and love for Afikpo people.

The Council Chairman who earlier that day commissioned a motorized borehole constructed by the Coordinator of Afikpo East DC at Ubam, Ugwuegu, assured that political office holders in the area will continue to step down the good leadership initiatives of Governor Nwifuru as captured in the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda
Earlier in her welcome speech, the Coordinator of Afikpo East Development Center, Comrade Immaculate Elem Ibe, applauded the Governor’s wife for her support and disclosed that the projects she put in place including the market at Ndibe; VIP toilet at Amaozara; motorized borehole at Ubam; Princess Onyemaechi Obila Auditorium at the DC Headquarters; Solar street lights across the DC and the empowerment program were all efforts to make life more meaningful for her people, promising to do more.
The colorful event was attended by several top Government functionaries and their Spouses as well as Stakeholders of AfiKpo Local Government Area.
