A group of young entrepreneurs under the aegis of the Lagos chapter of the Ebonyi Businessmen Forum has endorsed Governor Francis Nwifuru for a second term in office and declared support for Christian Nwali as the preferred candidate to represent Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone in the 2027 elections.

The endorsement was announced following the association’s quarterly meeting held in Lagos, where members unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Gov. Nwifuru’s administration.

The group stated that the governor’s performance in office surpasses that of his predecessors in the region, citing achievements in security, infrastructure, education, and human capital development.

Speaking on behalf of the forum through a statement on Sunday, its President, Jeremiah Nworu, commended the governor for prioritizing peace and stability across Ebonyi State.

Nworu, who recently undertook a symbolic trek from Lagos to Abakaliki to appreciate the governor’s efforts, emphasized that sustainable development can only thrive in a peaceful environment.

He noted that unlike past administrations that allegedly tolerated communal conflicts, the current government has focused on conflict resolution while channeling state resources toward infrastructural growth.

The association also expressed appreciation to Nwali for accepting calls to represent Ebonyi Central at the National Assembly.

Nworu described Nwali as a seasoned businessman and well-educated leader with the competence required for legislative responsibilities.

The group further urged citizens of Ebonyi State to prioritize competence and experience when electing leaders, stressing that legislative duties demand individuals with strong educational backgrounds, exposure, and proven track records.

Reaffirming their stance, the forum called on Ebonyians to rally support for both Gov. Nwifuru and Nwali, describing them as capable leaders with the vision to advance the state’s development.

The Lagos-based association comprises young businessmen of Ebonyi State origin and is led by Nworu, a trained political scientist.
