The Odohzhia campaign council of All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has dismissed claims by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) planned to attack its supporters at the proposed really holding on Wednesday in Ezza North local government Area of the state.

Director, Media and Publicity, of the campaign council, Mr Charles Otu, stated this in a press statement he personally signed in Abakaliki.

The statement further revealed that the attention of the campaign council was drawn to a video making the rounds on social media platforms where the governor, David Umahi raised a false alarm that APGA governorship plans to attack him and APC.

“The attention of the Odohzhia Ebonyi Campaign council has been drawn to a video making the rounds in Social media platforms where the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi raised a false alarm that the APGA Governorship candidate in Ebonyi 2023 election plans to attack him and the APC team during its proposed rally today in Ezza North Local Government Area of the State”.

The Party explained that Umahi had made the hasty and fallacious claims yesterday during an APC rally at Ugbodo, the council headquarters of Ebonyi Local Government Area.

According to the statement, Umahi among other vituperative utterances customary of his person and style and undignifying of the high office he occupies challenged our peaceful and peace-loving Governorship candidate, Odoh to dare him.

Starting that APGA is still in shock and mourning two officers in their campaign team who lost their lives during an assassination attempt on the Governorship candidate from gunmen suspected to be members of Ebubeagu militia at Okpoto in Ishielu Local Government Area of the State.

“Knowing Governor Umahi’s modus of always raising false alarms and exposing his plans whenever he’s ‘high’ in public, anyone who carefully heard or watched him speak during the said rally must be suspect that he must have a game plan.

“On his proposed rally in Ezza North LGA today, where incidentally our guber candidate hails from, besides, we have also gotten hints on good authorities that the APC campaign train is allegedly planning to set themselves against themselves like they did during its rally in Isu, Onicha Local Government Area and then heap the blames on the peace-loving Odohzia Ebonyi Campaign council which has been going about its campaigns with utmost modesty and decorum.

“It therefore our wisdom to draw the attention of security agencies, the media, Nigerians and the rest of the world to the evil plots allegedly being hatched by the APC-led government in Ebonyi State to probably cause monumental violence and wreck havoc in the home Local Government Area of our Governorship candidate.

“We are still saddened and yet in a mourning mood over the loss of our gallant officers and those still receiving treatments in the hospital.

Ebonyi State Chapter of APGA and indeed, the Odohzhia Campaign council has no plans whatsoever either now or in the future to attack any candidate who is going about his peaceful electioneering campaigns!
