DR Congo international and FC Twente Jodi Lukoki died from an undisclosed cause at the age of 29.
Lukoki, who started his senior career with the Dutch side, Ajax, had a stint in Turkey with Yeni Malatyaspor before he moved back to the Netherlands to sign a two-year deal with FC Twente in June last year.
He played in the club briefly before he developed a knee injury that kept him out of action for quite a while. This prompted the club to terminate the contract in February 2022.
The late CR Congo international also played for PEC Zwolle and represented the Netherlands in the youth team before he finally switched allegiance to DR Congo national team in his senior career.
Lukoki, a winger in the Congolese national team, earned three caps from friendly games against Burkina Faso in 2020.
Meanwhile, FC Twente have sent a condolence message to sympathise with the family in their moment of grief.

“FC Twente sympathizes with his loved ones and wishes them a lot of strength in processing this great loss,” the statement added.
