The Delta State Government has opened registration for the Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP), a major youth-focused initiative aimed at grooming a new generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and job creators from state-owned tertiary institutions.
In a statement issued on behalf of the state government, registration for the programme is scheduled to commence on Monday, February 2, 2026, with interested and eligible students required to apply online through the official portal at www.tepapplication.com.
The Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Programme is designed to identify students with creative and bankable business ideas, equip them with practical entrepreneurial skills, and provide the support needed to turn ideas into viable enterprises. The initiative forms part of the Delta State Government’s broader strategy to drive youth empowerment, reduce unemployment, and stimulate sustainable economic growth.
According to the statement, eligibility is restricted to students of Delta State-owned universities, including the University of Delta, Agbor, Delta State University, Abraka, Southern Delta University, and Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba. Applicants must be of Delta State origin, aged between 18 and 35 years, and currently in 200 Level, 300 Level, or their penultimate year of study, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5. Candidates are also expected to present an innovative and viable business idea as part of the selection process.
Prospective applicants are required to upload key documents during registration, including a recent passport photograph, admission letter, birth certificate, local government of origin certificate, and a detailed business plan proposal outlining their entrepreneurial concept.

The government emphasized that all applications will undergo a thorough screening process and only candidates who fully meet the stated requirements will be shortlisted for participation in the programme.
Urging qualified students to take advantage of the opportunity, the Delta State Government noted that the programme offers a platform for young people to develop practical skills, unlock their entrepreneurial potential, and contribute meaningfully to the economic development of the state.
