Delta Central APC leaders endorse Tinubu, Oborevwori, Dafinone, dismiss rift rumours call for unity

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District have thrown their full weight behind President Bola Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Ede Dafinone, signaling a united front and a renewed focus on grassroots mobilization ahead of future elections.

Meeting at the country home of Senator Ede Dafinone in Delta State on Sunday, the party leadership set the record straight on internal unity and political direction. Chaired by Chief Paulinus Akpeki, a key APC figure in the district, the gathering reaffirmed confidence in the party’s top-tier leadership while urging increased cooperation and alignment among party members across Delta State. The unanimous vote of confidence in Tinubu, Oborevwori, and Dafinone was moved by State Financial Secretary Mr. William Deniran and seconded by Publicity Secretary Valentine Onojeghuo, sending a strong message of cohesion to party faithful and political observers alike.

Senator Dafinone used the occasion to update stakeholders on his legislative activities and ongoing development initiatives within Delta Central. He called on members to engage more actively with his office to tap into federal and state-level programs, stressing the need for structured collaboration through local party organs to ensure transparency and effective project delivery. Addressing persistent rumours of a political fallout with former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, Dafinone made it clear that there is no rift between them and urged members to stay focused on common goals rather than get distracted by unverified reports.

The senator also highlighted the significance of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s defection to the APC, describing it as a major turning point in Delta State politics. According to him, the governor now naturally assumes leadership of the party in the state, and every member must align with his direction to consolidate APC’s growing influence. Chief Akpeki echoed this sentiment, describing the political landscape as dynamic and urging all stakeholders to embrace unity, maintain discipline, and work collectively to expand the party’s reach and effectiveness.

High-ranking party officials and grassroots leaders from across Delta Central attended the meeting, reinforcing the importance of synergy at all levels. Participants were also briefed on the progress of the ongoing APC membership registration and reassured that any challenges encountered would be swiftly resolved to ensure wider participation and accurate documentation.

With this show of unity, strategic recalibration, and strong endorsements, the Delta Central APC has repositioned itself as a dominant political force in the state, signaling a wave of renewed energy and clear direction as the 2027 elections approach. The message to party members and supporters is clear: the APC in Delta Central is united, resolute, and fully behind the leadership of Tinubu, Oborevwori, and Dafinone.
