The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned one Collins Eselemo, who accused Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of mismanaging N450 billion state funds.
Mr. Collins Eselemo during a live interview on Arise TV on Wednesday also declared that the state governor who just joined the party cannot be its leader.
However, the APC in a statement released on Thursday, described Eselemo’s claims as “reckless, malicious, and entirely unfounded,” asserting that he neither represents nor speaks for the APC in any capacity.
The statement, signed by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Valentine Onojeghuo, described Eselemo’s comments as those of a “discredited political opportunist” whose political history is marred by “blackmail, betrayal, and serial party prostitution.
“Collins Eselemo is not, and has never been, a recognized member of the APC in Delta State,” the party declared.
“He contested elections under the NNPP in 2023 and has not been formally received or registered by our party. His claim to APC membership is fraudulent and should be disregarded by the public and media.”
The APC emphasized its commitment to internal discipline and credible leadership, insisting that Eselemo’s outburst runs contrary to the party’s core values and direction.
The statement went further to defend Gov. Oborevwori, who recently joined the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), highlighting his administration’s record of fiscal prudence and transparency.
“Since assuming office, Governor Oborevwori has not borrowed a single kobo in domestic or foreign loans, a fact that is verifiable and unprecedented in Delta’s recent history,” the statement noted.

The APC expressed dismay at what it described as an increasing trend of political blackmail and misrepresentation by individuals who exploit party platforms for personal relevance.
“Delta APC is not a sanctuary for political vagabonds looking for their next platform of convenience. We are a party built on structure, ideology, and discipline,” Onojeghuo said.
He urged the media and the public to be vigilant and avoid being misled by individuals posing as party stakeholders without legitimate affiliation or moral standing.
The statement further urged all stakeholders to focus on constructive engagement and developmental politics, rather than media theatrics and divisive antics.
“Enough of the distractions. Enough of the lies. Delta APC will not be dragged into the gutters by political impostors the likes of Collins Eselemo,” the party asserted.
