The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has announced the collection of registration booklets to aid the process of formalizing the registration of new members into the party.
This is in response to the recent wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the APC.
The party has officially notified all Local Government Chairmen to collect Registration Booklets, marking a significant step in integrating the defected PDP members into the APC fold.

The influx of new members follows the historic defection of Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborewori and the entire Delta State PDP structure to the APC on Wednesday April 23rd, 2025.

The move, which is seen as a direct result of the internal crises within the PDP at the national level, has further bolstered the APC’s position in the state.

In a statement issued on Thursday, 24th April, 2025, by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq., the APC emphasized the importance of the registration process.

“The registration of new members is a crucial step towards ensuring they are fully integrated into the party structure. We encourage all new members to visit their local ward chairmen and complete the registration formalities to formalize their membership,” Onojeghuo stated.

The APC leadership has also made clear that the integration of these new members is a key part of the party’s vision for a “brighter future” for Delta State. With a growing number of PDP defectors swelling the ranks of the APC, the party is now positioning itself to capitalize on the strengthened unity and increased influence ahead of future political contests.

At the forefront of this effort, the State Chairman of the APC, Elder Omeni Sobotie, has directed all Local Government Chairmen to visit the APC State Secretariat in Asaba on the 24th of April, 2025, at 11:00 am to collect the necessary Registration Booklets. These will be distributed to the ward chairmen, who are tasked with issuing official membership cards to the new members.

“The influx of members into our party is a testament to the growing trust in our leadership and the promises of unity and progress that we offer. These new members are crucial to the APC’s future in Delta State,” said Onojeghuo.

As the APC prepares for upcoming political challenges, the integration of these new members, many of whom have defected from the PDP due to its ongoing internal struggles—is expected to play a vital role in the party’s goals of achieving “Renewed Hope” for the people of Delta.

The statement further informed members of the public are advised to contact their respective ward chairmen or visit the State Secretariat.
