Daniel Regha Drags Davido, Wande Coal Body-Shaming Feud Into Spotlight After Tiny’s Death

Nigerian social media commentator Daniel Regha has reignited a sensitive debate about body shaming and male insecurity following the reported death of Nigerian-British influencer Tiny after an alleged penile-enlargement procedure in Thailand.

Key Highlights:

  • Daniel Regha condemned body-shaming of men, following Tiny’s reported death after a cosmetic procedure.
  • He warned that ridicule can fuel insecurity and push people toward risky procedures.
  • Davido’s old insult about Wande Coal’s penis size has resurfaced.
  • The incident highlights how body-related jokes can become harmful during celebrity feuds.
  • Regha urged people to accept their natural bodies and avoid unnecessary risk

Regha’s intervention has also dragged an old and controversial exchange between Afrobeats stars Davido and Wande Coal back into public conversation, after Davido previously mocked Wande Coal over the size of his prairie part during their explosive social media clash.

Reacting to Tiny’s reported death, Regha warned that jokes about men’s bodies and genitalia can have consequences far beyond online entertainment, arguing that repeated ridicule may deepen insecurities and influence people to pursue risky cosmetic procedures.

“Might seem like funny news, however, it’s not; A lot of men get ridiculed for this, by both women, and their fellow men masked as a joke,” Regha wrote.

He added that such ridicule can create insecurity and eventually push some people into taking unnecessary risks in an attempt to change their bodies.

“This leads to insecurity and then some people start taking unnecessary risks to fix what shouldn’t have been a problem to begin with,” he said.

But Regha’s comments have gained an even more controversial dimension because of the history of public jokes surrounding male genital size in Nigerian pop culture.

His remarks come weeks after Davido and Wande Coal became embroiled in a highly personal online clash over an unreleased version of Wande Coal’s 2021 song, Come My Way.

Davido said Wande Coal had approached him to record a verse for the song and claimed he delivered what he considered a strong performance.

According to Davido, the disagreement came over how his version would be released, with Wande allegedly planning to release the original first before putting out Davido’s contribution as a remix.

Wande Coal disputed Davido’s account, insisting that the song already had a release plan and accusing Davido of trying to dictate how a record that was not his should be released.

“That song f***ing did well without you on it bruv!!!” Wande wrote in response. That was when the disagreement descended from a music argument into personal attacks.

Davido fired back with the now-viral insult: “No vex Mr little penis.” He later followed it with another jab, “Na small sardine.”

Wande Coal responded by calling Davido “Mr toto beggar,” referencing an old viral clip involving Davido.

The exchange triggered widespread reactions online, with fans revisiting old controversies and debating whether jokes about people’s bodies should ever become ammunition in celebrity feuds.

The controversy surrounding Wande’s body was not entirely new. Reports noted that an old controversy involving alleged nude photographs of the singer had circulated years earlier, although Wande Coal and former Mo’Hits boss Don Jazzy had said at the time that the images were digitally manipulated.

Regha argued that people should remember that nobody chooses the physical characteristics they are born with.

“No-one created themselves, I just hope people learn to love and accept themselves more,” he wrote.

His message has therefore turned the spotlight away from the usual celebrity banter and towards the potentially serious consequences of normalising body-shaming, particularly when physical insecurities are repeatedly used as punchlines.
