At least one person has reportedly been killed following a power tussle between two cult groups in the Ugep community of Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The deceased, identified by local sources as Usang, from Assiga Village, is married with children.
Our reporter also gathered that on Sunday, sporadic gunshots, at intervals, rent the air in Ugep.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, said that “in broad daylight, these boys were marching all over town, carrying offensive weapons.”
He said he does not know if the local authority will be able to address the situation alone because of the number of young men who are involved.
He asked the state government to confront the issue with the seriousness it deserves, get those involved arrested and prosecuted.
