Cross River Seals Schools Over Lack Of Approval
The enforcement exercise was carried out by the Quality Assurance Department of the Cross River State Ministry of Education as part of the government’s efforts to ensure that schools operate within approved standards.
Commissioner for Education, Prof. Stephen Odey, who announced the closure, said the exercise was driven by the government’s determination to protect children while improving the standard and quality of education delivery across the state.
Odey said schools operating without the requisite approval would not be allowed to compromise the safety and quality standards expected of educational institutions.
Government Warns Unapproved Schools Against Reopening
The commissioner urged proprietors of unapproved schools to regularise their institutions by obtaining the necessary approval from the Ministry of Education.
He explained that the enforcement exercise was intended not only to close non-compliant schools but also to bring operators into compliance with established regulations.
