The Cross River State Government has set up a judicial commission of enquiry to investigate the alleged disruption of the commissioning of projects in the state by the management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on June 13, 2025.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Owan Enoh, said that the state Governor, Bassey Otu, directed that the judicial panel be set up to set the records straight from the divergent narratives in the public domain concerning the incident.

“The commission shall identify the perpetrators and make appropriate recommendations for further disciplinary and/ or criminal proceedings to be pursued against identified perpetrators.
“The commission is to conclude its inquiry and submit a report on or before July 2025,” the statement directed.
Members of the panel are Justice Emilia Ibok, chairman, Mrs. Stella Iki, secretary, while Akwaji Ogbang, Mrs. Mary Akpet, and James Oyi are members.
