The announcement that Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has welcomed his first child with his wife and stylist, Luminee, has sparked mixed reactions on social media platform X.

Key Highlights:

  • Olanrewaju Omiyinka announced the birth of his first child with his wife, Luminee.
  • The announcement triggered mixed reactions on X, with some celebrating and others criticizing him due to his past legal controversy.
  • Critics referenced his earlier case involving a minor, raising questions about accountability and public image.
  • Supporters argued he deserves a second chance and urged forgiveness.
  • The debate has reignited broader discussions about celebrity conduct and public perception in Nigeria.

Luminee shared the news in an emotional post, celebrating the arrival of their son and expressing gratitude to God for the new addition to their family.

She described the baby as a blessing and noted that their “little star” had arrived to brighten their lives, adding that they were grateful for receiving more than they had prayed for.

However, the announcement quickly became a subject of debate online, with some Nigerians revisiting the actor’s past legal controversy involving a minor.

Some X users questioned the public celebration of the actor, arguing that the situation brought back discussions around accountability, public image, and how celebrities involved in serious controversies are received by the public.

Reacting to the news, @I_iknow criticized those celebrating the actor, writing:

“People just get mad audacity, cus if not why this man go even get mind do video shoot of his child when he goes about molesting other people’s children.

“Not wishing him bad but let’s just say what goes around comes around. Now that he has his own kids let’s see how. He who is without sin let him cast the first stone, he deserve a second chance in life. Let him be, world treat his own child too.”

Another user, @pamilerin2029, expressed anger over the announcement, saying:

“My gender, ahahaha, I would rather get a sperm donor than do this with a child predator. A whole pedophile & she even has a daughter, I’m so ashamed. God abeg.

“Are they knacking inside prison? Dey released this man last November, making it 7 months now. God abeg, I just dey vex.”

Meanwhile, @Dwaynfranklin defended the actor’s right to move forward, stating:

“He who is without sin let him cast the first stone, he deserve a second chance in life. Let him be.”

The reactions have since divided social media users, with some focusing on the joy of the new baby while others insisted that public figures should continue to face scrutiny over their past actions.

The development has further fueled conversations around celebrity reputation, forgiveness, accountability, and public perception within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
