“It makes no sense. We were just together with the national team, and you just got married,” the Portuguese player, known as “7,” wrote on his official Instagram account, reflecting on Diogo Jota’s recent moments.

Ronaldo expressed his condolences simply: “To your family, your wife, and children, I send my deepest sympathies and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you’ll always be with them. Rest in peace, Diogo and Andre; we will all miss you.”

This heartfelt message from Cristiano Ronaldo adds to the many expressions of sympathy that have emerged in recent hours. The deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother André, who was also in the car during the crash, have left their national teammates devastated.

The former Real Madrid “7,” now playing for Al-Nassr, remains engaged with matters concerning the Portugal national team.

Fans of Liverpool worldwide are also mourning the loss of Diogo and his brother André, as Diogo was a key player for Liverpool before the tragic accident on Thursday.

Real Madrid’s president and board members released a statement on their X account expressing their condolences, stating: “Real Madrid, its President, and Board of Directors deeply regret the passing of Diogo Jota, Liverpool FC player, and his brother André Silva from FC Penafiel. Real Madrid wishes to extend its condolences and affection to their families, loved ones, teammates, and clubs.”

The statement, overseen by Florentino Pérez, expressed solidarity with all soccer fans in their grief over this tragic news. “Rest in peace,” it concluded.

The news of Diogo Jota’s death in a traffic accident during his vacation in Spain has sent shockwaves through the soccer community.

The Liverpool player was enjoying his time off between seasons, embarking on a new chapter in his life following recent personal changes.

Indeed, the striker had recently married his long-time partner, solidifying a bond that had developed over thirteen years and resulted in three children.

Jota’s vehicle lost control due to a tire blowout while trying to overtake another car, leading to the fatal accident. His brother, Andre Silva, also tragically lost his life in the incident.

At just 28 years old, Jota had recently tied the knot and shared three children with his partner.

He was a vital member of the Liverpool team that won the Premier League last season.
