Como beat Las Palmas in race for Cesc Fabregas

Former Chelsea playmaker, Cesc Fabregas is closed to joining Italian side Como on a two-year deal The Trumpet understands.

Fabregas, who signed for Monaco in France three years ago having left Stamford Bridge, is presently a free agent with a report linking him with a move to join a Serie B team. The Trumpet Gathered

According to reports from Spain, UD Las Palmas are also interested in the midfield maestro who can play in either the attacking or defensive positions but a higher bid from Como has frustrated the effort of the club’s President Miguel Ángel Ramírez.

Ramirez, in his lamentations over his club’s inability to compete with Lariani financially for the 35-year-old Spanish midfielder, allayed the tension with the imminent signing of Atletico Madrid winger, Victor Machin Perez popularly known as Vitolo.

Corroborating the above report, Sky Sports Italia noted that the former Arsenal and Barcelona player is an inch away from a switch to Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia until June 2024.

Reportedly, Cesc is one step away from Como 1907, a Serie B team. He would arrive not only for this season but signing a contract until June 2024.

Explicitly, Como are desperate to come to the Italian top-tier as soon as possible and believe Fabregas can give them the needed flair in the team to fulfill their season’s campaign.

Aside from Fabregas, the Serie B team have also engaged Dennis Wise, a former Chelsea midfielder in a coaching role.

It is noteworthy to say that Cesc Fabregas during his spell at Chelsea provided 57 assists and netted 23 times in 198 appearances.

Should he complete the move to become the second Spaniard to join Como, Fabregas will reunite with Alex Blanco who joined the club last season from Valencia. Sky Sport Italia added that both players trained together
at Barca intermittently.
