Rivers Governor, Sim Fubara has prophesied that the passing of the Ijaw leader and elder statesman, Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark would trigger a massive quest for social justice which the sage stood for within the Niger Delta region and beyond.
The Governor expressed confidence that the shoes left by Pa Clark’s passing would be filled to size and his legacies bettered by the followers he raised while alive.
Governor Fubara likened the situation that would emerge after now to what happened after the death of Jesus Christ when His disciples took the gospel to far flung places where Jesus could not reach during His ministry on earth.
“I won’t align myself with those who are saying that it will be difficult to fill the shoes left by Pa Clark. That shoe will be filled very well. Jesus ministry when He was earth was within a certain location, but after He died, His apostles took up the gospel and went farther than Jesus did when he was with them.
” What Pa Clark stands for is going to be bigger than what he achieved while alive. Its for everyone of us here to key into it. Live this life for others. Stand on what is truth, defend justice, speak for the oppressed. That is the message, simple and straight ”
Governor Fubara spoke at the Night of Tributes Sunday evening organized by Rivers Elders and Leaders Forum in honor of the Late Chief Edwin Clark at the Royal House of Grace International Church in Port Harcourt.
The suspended Governor stated that beyond the noise over the political situation in the state, his primary focus now is on how to take care of his wife and children.
Cautioning his supporters and followers, the Governor urged them to restrict their comments at the occasion on paying tributes to the departed without dragging politics into the arena.

“That is not what I need now. Even some of you, have you asked yourself or do you think I am interested in going back. I want to ask you, don’t you see how better I look. Do you think I am interested in it? If I have my way, this is an altar of God, I don’t wish to go back there. My Spirit had left that place a long time ago.
“I want everybody to focus please, there are some fights you don’t fight. There are some things you don’t do. You need to ask the person if he wants it. I have peace. If you have known me, if you see me you will know that I look better now.
“In as much as we have things that we need to do for our state, we know people who have made sacrifices for us and I have to stand by them does not mean we should start firing without target. We need to be focused. Our evening here is about Pa Clark. It is not oshobe Fubara, oshobe Sim.
Singling out the women who kept chanting their slogan, the Governor addressed them “Among you, the women here, do you have forgiving spirit. Your hearts are bitter. You don’t forgive. We are here talking about a man who spent his own money to go to court for me, a man who gathered people and said, fight for Fubara. But some of you here, your hearts are dark”, he thundered
