Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, on Wednesday joined children across the country to celebrate the 2026 Children’s Day, reiterating the federal government’s commitment to providing inclusive and quality education for every Nigerian child.

Key Highlights:

  • He said every child deserves equal opportunity regardless of background or disability, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
  • The minister hosted disability advocate Dera Osadebe to promote inclusion and amplify children’s voices.
  • He emphasized investment in education, welfare, and youth empowerment as key to Nigeria’s future development.
  • Alausa urged children to stay confident and develop their talents while assuring continued government support for their growth.
As part of activities marking the occasion, the minister hosted young disability advocate and actress, Dera Osadebe, at the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja.
According to a statement issued by the minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Ikharo Attah, the event brought together children from different schools and backgrounds across the country in an effort to amplify children’s voices and promote inclusive learning.
