The Blues legend, John Terry, through his social media account, has taken a swipe at doubters of the digital token project, in which a lot of footballers are heavy investors.
Terry is under investigation by Chelsea, UEFA, Premier League, and England FA over the use of copyrighted materials to promote the activities of his monkey Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) through his social media handles.
Moreover, clubs’ footballers, who have heavily invested in buying and selling collectible digital commodities, have also come under intense criticism for promoting the industry which poses impending dangers to average investors.
However, in January, it was reported that the former Blues’ defender was being investigated by Chelsea, UEFA, FA, and the Premier League for the sale of digital artwork using copyrighted items for its promotion through his social media handles.
The reports stated that Terry who was recently re-hired for an academy consultancy role by the Blues is being investigated for copyright violations by UEFA, England FA, and the Premier League for using the club’s logo, shirts, trophies to promote the profit-money based artworks.
Recently, it was reported that the Premier League entered 9-digit negotiations with the NTF makers with many companies on the queue trying to foster a business relationship with the division for an official NTF project
Furthermore, as against John Terry’s actions to have allegedly used copyrighted items to promote his own monkey NTF project, Sorare, Candy Digital, Dapper Labs and ConsenSys companies have been shortlisted by the Premier League to be granted exclusive rights to use licensed imagery in NFTs.
