Activities at the Delta State-owned Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Asaba, were brought to a standstill on Thursday after severe flooding submerged the station’s premises following a heavy downpour that swept across Asaba and surrounding communities.

The torrential rainfall caused extensive flooding in several parts of the Delta State capital, with the popular DBS Road among the worst-hit locations, leaving motorists and commuters stranded.
Floodwaters completely inundated the broadcasting station, raising concerns over the safety of sensitive broadcast equipment, office facilities and other valuable assets housed within the premises.

Staff members who reported for duty were unable to gain access to their offices as the flood rendered the entire facility inaccessible, effectively grounding operations at the state-owned media organisation.
