The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Borno State have endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term in 2027.

The endorsement was made at a high-level meeting of the party’s stakeholders held at the Government House, Maiduguri.

The stakeholders meeting brought together key figures in the APC, such as the Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Dalori, Senate Chief Whip, Mohammed Monguno, Senators Mohammed Ndume and Kaka Lawan, former Governor Maina Lawan, Baba Jidda and Dauda Danladi as well as members of the National Assembly, state House of Assembly members, former deputy governors, and party executives.

Top government officials in attendance include the secretary to the state government, head of service, commissioners, special advisers, local government chairmen, and numerous political appointees and grassroots party leaders.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders expressed their full support for the Tinubu administration and endorsed the Renewed Hope Agenda.

They prayed for President Tinubu’s success in office and urged him to retain Vice President Shettima as his running mate for a second term.

The meeting also applauded Shettima’s commitment to the administration and encouraged him to remain steadfast in promoting the president’s policies.

Governor Babagana Zulum, also received a vote of confidence from the stakeholders, who lauded his efforts in restoring peace and development in the state amid lingering security challenges.

Reaffirming Borno’s position as a stronghold of the APC, the stakeholders declared that the state will remain firmly aligned with the party, rejecting any notion of a merger or political realignment.

They called on members to uphold the unity and image of the party and resist divisive tendencies.

The communique further urged the APC’s national leadership to strengthen internal democracy to ensure the party’s continued dominance of the nation’s political landscape.

However, the stakeholders called on the federal government to sustain and expand developmental initiatives in the North East, including oil exploration in Kolmani and the Lake Chad region, and to prioritise road infrastructure to boost regional security and prosperity.
