The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State, Warman Ogoriba, has dismissed claims that the party could face internal division after its recently concluded ward, local government, and state congresses, describing the expectations of opposition parties as unrealistic.
Ogoriba said the opposition’s hope that the congresses would trigger a crisis within the APC was a “pipe dream,” insisting that the exercise ended peacefully and strengthened unity within the party.
The APC chairman made the remarks in Yenagoa while receiving state and local government coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political support group led by Chief Tiwei Orunimighe.
According to him, the congresses that produced new party executives across the state reflected a strong sense of cohesion among party leaders, stakeholders, and members.
He said the new leadership would build on the trust demonstrated during the exercise and maintain the atmosphere of cooperation that characterised the process.
Ogoriba explained that the party had adopted an open-door policy aimed at strengthening relationships among members and ensuring that disagreements do not weaken the organisation.
He noted that party leaders had already begun consultations and visits to key stakeholders in order to preserve harmony within the party structure.
“Those in the opposition who are hoping for an implosion within the APC before they can gain political advantage will be disappointed,” he said, stressing that the party remained united.
The APC chairman also assured members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and other political support organisations of the party’s cooperation as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections.
He described campaign organisations as an important mobilising force that can help energise grassroots support for the party’s candidates.
Ogoriba urged political groups aligned with the APC to focus on strengthening unity and expanding their outreach across communities in Bayelsa State.
He expressed confidence that close collaboration between the party and its support groups would help secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in future elections.
Earlier in his remarks, Orunimighe congratulated the newly elected state executive of the APC for demonstrating readiness to work with support groups and civil political organisations.
He said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors were committed to supporting the party’s structure and mobilising voters ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Orunimighe added that the group would work closely with the party leadership in Bayelsa to promote the re-election campaign of President Tinubu and strengthen grassroots engagement across the state.

He said the national leadership of the organisation had directed all affiliated groups to operate in partnership with the party structure to ensure coordinated mobilisation.
The visit also included local government coordinators of the group from Nembe, Yenagoa, Brass, Southern Ijaw, Sagbama, Ogbia, Kolokuma/Opokuma and Ekeremor.
The meeting highlighted growing political activity within the APC in Bayelsa as political actors begin positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
